- To set up a dunning system in Lobo, first define dunning levels by navigating to Views > Dunnings > Dunning levels.
- Create levels such as “Payment reminder” and configure details like dunning charges, interest, and placeholders for dynamic data.
- Each dunning level represents a step in the dunning process, with progressively stricter terms, culminating in a final dunning run for debt collection if invoices remain unpaid.
- The setup of dunning levels is a requirement for creating dunnings. Based on the dunning levels the final PDFs are created. In this tutorial we show how to set them up.

To set up a dunning system, we first have to define dunning levels. Therefore, I switch to the module Dunnings > Dunning levels. To get an idea what can be set up for each dunning level, let’s create one. You can name it, we’ll name it Payment reminder. And that’s also the title of the PDF. I will leave the Dunning charges and interest for default to zero.
We set up an introduction and can use these available placeholders, name of the value date, the last time you checked your bank account and the payment deadline until the customer should pay. This open dunning that will be later replaced by the chosen values on the actual dunning creation. Next section of the pdf will be items. So that sets of dunnings that are listed by Lobo. And finally, you can leave Goodbye message. And you can last check we’ll insert place. I love what a value date and click save.
You can now set up additional dunning levels. For example, we could set up a dunning level where we charge for the dunning. And could even add the interest for default. So I’ll call this Dunning, use the same text, click save again. And like this, you can add additional Dunning levels. Let’s do that fast forward.
So let’s recap the idea behind Dunning levels. If you create a new Dunning run, a payment reminder will be created for each unpaid invoice. For each of those invoices that is still unpaid in the next Dunning run, The system will create a dunning with a dunning charge of 5 euros and interest 40 fold or 5 percent and so on for the next dunning run.
In this example, the final dunning run is a document for collection that lists all unpaid invoices to be passed to a debt collection agency. You may be also interested in a tutorial on how to create dunnings. Thanks for watching and bye.
